    This week we are grinding and mixing a batch of FRESH sausage for you! Both Armenian sausage with our own wild fresh mint and spicy Moroccan merguez are on sale for $8 per lb at the farm meat shop Sunday 12 to 4 pm.

  2. Meat Shop Open July 1st to 5th 10 am to 6 pm

    When you’re out and about this week, drop by the farm meat shop for some of our homemade Armenian or merguez sausage. It is freezer-wrapped in packages of 4-7, $8 per lb. The sausage is made with only sheep meat, salt, pepper, herbs and spices in a pork casing. There are no fillers or preservatives. Please bring cash for your purchase.

    While you’re here, you are welcome to visit the friendly donkey, rams and goats or take a longer walk to see the ewes and lambs on pasture. The lambs are growing well and we are selling some for summer spit roasting, and taking orders for whole and half freezer lambs for the fall. The price is $6 per lb carcass wt, minimum $240, plus $40-50 per carcass for cutting, wrapping and freezing. All of our lambs are 100% grass-fed, raised on organic pasture without routine medication.

  3. Meat shop open 3-6 pm May 30, 10-3 May 31

    Looks like a beautiful weekend for a BBQ. How about some shoulder chops, seasoned patties or sausage? A Frenchman raised in Algeria who is staying at the guest house reported that our sausage has the true merguez taste, a high compliment! He then doused it with Tabasco sauce, but most Canadians seem to find it hot enough as is.

    The first of this year’s lambs will be roasted at a Croatian picnic on June 7. Others have been ordered for roasting in July and August. This is a great way to celebrate a festive occasion. You can rent equipment from Martin Laprise or get him to do it for you (See www.thechefinstead.com)

    It’s not too early to order your cut and wrapped lamb for the fall. Thank you to Marcus and Deb, who dropped in to order theirs this week and picked up some sausage as well.  Please see the contact page for directions.


  4. FRESH Sausage on sale May 23 & 24

    This week we are grinding and mixing a batch of FRESH sausage for you! Both Armenian sausage with our own wild fresh mint and spicy Moroccan merguez will be on sale at the farm meat shop this Friday May 23 from 3 to 6 pm and Saturday May 24 from 9 am to 5 pm. Both are priced at $8 per lb.

    For the budget-minded, we will also have fresh ground mutton at $6 per lb.

    Our lambs are growing well on the pasture with their mothers and will be ready for market from July through December. You need to order soon to secure your lamb when you want it. The price is $6 per lb of carcass weight plus $40 to $50 per lamb for cutting and wrapping. Please see Meat/Lamb for details. Our lamb is 100% grass-fed and untreated with any hormones,  antibiotics or other medications.

     


  5. May 17-19 FRESH lamb cuts 9am-5 pm

    Need some lamb or sausage for your weekend BBQ? Stop by the shop at 3652 Spiers Road to pick up your FRESH lamb, cut for you from our own carcasses in the cooler, inspected today. We can make you loin, rib and shoulder chops, butterflied legs and patties. Just phone Sue at 861-7005 to reserve your cuts for pick up.

    We also have a good supply of sausage, both Armenian, made with our own wild mint, and Merguez, a spicy Moroccan variety. And best of all, there’s more right out on the pasture! Drop in, pick up some tasty, healthy,  grass-fed meat, have a look at our young lambs grazing with their mothers, and order one for the fall.
